Alison McLean Lane is the current Albany County Legislator for the 14th Legislative  District.

Originally from Loudonville, she lives in Menands with her husband, Tim, and their twins, Timothy and Campbell Rose.

Her experience and active community involvement make her qualified to represent the people of Colonie.

Alison obtained her Bachelor’s of Science degree at Boston College in 1994 and went on to pursue graduate studies at SUNY F.I.T. in 2002. Alison went on to develop a diverse background in marketing, management and budgeting.

After college, she became a corporate liaison to the City of Boston Mayor's Office and Boston Licensing Boards while managing the various licenses at 25 premises owned by her employer. She went on to the role of risk manager and ultimately saved her employer a million dollars a year in insurance costs. She moved to New York where she managed a medical facility that earned $5 million annually in revenue.

Currently, Alison serves as the Legislative Director for Assemblyman Phil Steck. She manages constituent concerns, drafts legislation, and works with the Capital Region’s legislative delegation. Through these services, Alison works tirelessly to create opportunities that enhance the way of life in not only Albany County, but also the Capital Region as a whole. In addition to her work experience, Alison takes great pride in giving back to the community by volunteering at civic and non-profit organizations.

In 2008, she founded and managed the second largest farmers market in the Capital Region, which not only supports local farmers but maintains The Crossings Park. For the past five years, Alison has been a fundraising ambassador for the Northeastern New York AIDS Council. Being an animal lover and pet rescuer, she strongly supports the work and mission of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
